The following is in the public domain:- James John Pawsey b. Q1 1921 (MMS Pawsey!) Reg Yarmouth 4b 61 Mid-April 1940 Enlisted 928713 in Block 900000-934899 RAFVR Issued Uxbridge 04-Jan-40 to 30-Apr-40. Aged 19. AIR 78/124/2 Image 250 R3C2. No ‘hits’ in the LG for Name/Number. m. ?? ??? ???? d. 12 Jun 1943 in DK170. Now the Pawsey family seems to have married cousins at some time(s), but I can’t find a marriage for this one! So we must consider that this birth Reg may be ‘non-standard’. It is possible that James J Pawsey may have married an Edna M Hargrave in Q3 1938 (Reg W Glamorgan 11a 2476) – two girls from this marriage Reg in E&W. But whether it is the s ....Read More. |

Sgt J.J.Pawsey 928713 Halifax DK170 by wwrsimon on 31 May 2020 16:40 | Re: Sgt J.J.Pawsey 928713 Halifax DK170 A little bit of detective work on the Newspaper Archive on FMP and the 1939 found a possible Pawsey link to Great Yarmouth, if that's where he's from: The Yarmouth Independent newspaper of August 20th 1938 about cyclists compaigning about a set of traffic lights at Gorleston not working properly, leading to them being fined for going through red lights. One of the cyclists was James Pawsey, of Frederick Road, Gorleston [Gorleston-on-Sea, just south of Great Yarmouth]. The 1939 Register has the following members of the Pawsey family living at 10 Frederick Road, Great Yarmouth: PAWSEY, Sidney C., b. Feb. 23rd 1891, carpenter PAWSEY, Anna S., b. Nov. 19th 1891, upaid domestic duties PAWSEY, Percy J. J.*, b. Apr. 19th 1917, carpenter's labourer PA ....Read More. |
